Nicholas Trevino has been serving the people of Colorado since he became an attorney in 2017. Originally from El Paso, Texas, he was raised in Colorado Springs, CO and pursued his undergraduate education at the University of Colorado-Boulder. After spending a year abroad in South America, Nicholas returned to the University of Colorado for law school. While in law school, he worked for two judges, one on the Federal District Court for the District of Colorado and one on the Colorado Court of Appeals.   

Following law school, Nicholas Trevino served as a Deputy District Attorney in Boulder County. His profound commitment to justice was honed during his seven-year tenure at that office, which involved special assignments working with the Boulder County Drug Task, the Conviction Integrity Unit, and the Sex Crimes Unit. In recognition of his hard work and experience, Nicholas was later promoted to Senior Deputy District Attorney. Over the course of his time as a prosecutor, Nicholas went to trial on cases involving charges ranging from petty offenses to complex felonies, including: DUI; Assault; Drug Offenses; Domestic Violence; Sexual Assault; and First Degree Murder.

This experience instilled in him a deep understanding of the complexities involved in litigation, as well as the importance of empathy and diligence in legal practice. Today, Nicholas leverages his extensive litigation skills to assist clients facing family law challenges, particularly in divorce, child custody, and estate planning matters. Guiding clients through these emotionally charged issues with compassion and strategic insight is his priority. He believes in empowering his clients with the knowledge and support they need to navigate the difficult decisions they face. 

To stay connected and give back to his community, Nicholas also serves as a mentor for law students at the University of Colorado and coaches one of the schools National Mock Trial teams. When he’s not in the courtroom or assisting clients, you’ll likely find Nicholas spending time with his family or playing recreational sports.
